The Nuts and Bolts of Participatory Budgeting

This free practical masterclass will explain some of the tools and techniques developed by PB Partners and colleagues connected to the world of Participatory Budgeting.

Since it first came to the UK over 10 years ago participatory budgeting has evolved from a means to distribute grants in communities into a well articulated methodology for public commission, that puts citizens in the driving seat.

Suitable for public sector commissioners, researchers, engagement workers and community activists.

Facilitated by a leading Participatory Budgeting practitioner this introduction to the theory and practice of citizen led commissioning will be essential learning for anyone with an interest in the public sector and citizen empowerment, especially from the Health and Social Care world.

Done well PB can empower individuals and communities, put democracy at the heart of how we practice co-production, and offer new ways to commission public services.
